How to Get More LinkedIn Profile Views: 15 Levers, Ranked

Profile views are the top of your LinkedIn funnel: views become follows, follows become conversations, conversations become pipeline. Here are fifteen levers ranked by effort-to-impact — highest return first — plus three myths that waste your time.

High impact, low effort

Lever 1 · minutes

Comment where your buyers already read. A sharp comment on a large account's post puts your name and headline in front of thousands. Five substantive comments a day outperforms a mediocre post — and takes fifteen minutes.

Lever 2 · minutes

Rewrite your headline for the click. Your headline appears next to every comment and connection request you send. If it's a job title, nobody clicks through. See 21 headline formulas.

Lever 3 · minutes

Put your niche keywords in headline, About, and current role. LinkedIn search retrieves on words that are present. "RevOps consultant" in three places beats it in zero. This also fixes how AI assistants summarize you.

Lever 4 · minutes

Turn on Creator/follow mode if you post at all. Defaulting visitors to Follow instead of Connect grows the audience your future posts reach — compounding views.

Lever 5 · minutes

View the right people's profiles. Profile views are reciprocal: a meaningful share of people you view will view back. Visit 20 ideal-customer profiles a day; it's the oldest lever on LinkedIn because it works.

High impact, real effort

Lever 6 · weekly

Post one argued opinion a week. Not reposts, not congratulations — a position on something in your field. Posts with a stance get comments; comments drive reach; reach drives profile views.

Lever 7 · weekly

Show your work. Teardowns, before/afters, real numbers from real projects. Demonstration posts convert viewers into profile visitors at a much higher rate than opinion posts alone.

Lever 8 · once

Fix the visual layer. Photo and banner decide whether a feed impression becomes a profile visit. A default banner is a wasted billboard. (This is the Appearance pillar of the 30-point audit.)

Lever 9 · ongoing

Reply to every comment on your posts within hours. Reply activity extends a post's life in the feed, and every extended hour is more profile views.

Lever 10 · ongoing

Connect with 10 relevant people daily, with context. Each accepted request is a guaranteed profile view plus permanent feed distribution. Volume without relevance, though, is lever zero.

Situational levers

Lever 11

Speak, guest, and get tagged. Podcasts, webinars, and event recaps generate tagged mentions — each one is borrowed distribution to an audience you don't own yet.

Lever 12

Publish a named framework. A methodology with a name ("the SIGNAL framework", "the 3-2-1 pipeline review") gets referenced and searched. Frameworks travel; tips don't.

Lever 13

Coordinate with colleagues. Early comments from teammates in your niche legitimately widen a post's first-hour audience — the window the algorithm uses to decide reach.

Lever 14

Recycle winners. Your best post from eight months ago is new to 95% of today's audience. Rewrite it with a fresh example; don't repost verbatim.

Lever 15

Put your LinkedIn URL where your buyers already are. Email signature, conference bio, invoice footer, YouTube description. Off-platform traffic is the most qualified profile view there is.

Three myths

"Post daily or the algorithm punishes you." Frequency without quality trains your audience to scroll past you. One strong post beats five weak ones on every metric that matters.

"Hashtags drive reach." Their weight has been negligible for years. Three relevant ones cost nothing; twenty read as spam.

"Engagement pods work." Fake early engagement pollutes exactly the signal LinkedIn uses to find your real audience — and pod accounts aren't your buyers anyway.

Views are only half the funnel

Every lever above fills the top of the funnel. Whether a view becomes a follow, a DM, or a deal is decided by the profile itself — headline, story, proof, visuals. That conversion layer is what the audit measures.
